Two trees we counted to be at least 70 were blown over by the strong winds in North Platte on Friday evening, June 26, 2009. Imo and I watched as the wind pushed the trees over. In spite of the size of the trees damage was limited to our garage, and the neighbor’s fence. We were lucky even though we spend the night without electricity, gas and of course cable. It was a long and dark night. Click on the picture to see it larger. We want to thank Kelly Tree Service, Knobel Refrigeration & Electrical, NP Municipal Light, and Northwestern Energy and the NP Fire Department and Charter Cable for their service and quick response. Thank you.
After the clean up the yard looks very different. More photos here.
One response to “70 Year Old Trees Bend to Nebraska Wind”
Wow! You were blessed. That was a huge amount of power swirling around your house. Cody Park has big trees and limbs down too so apparently God didn’t single you out with a personal message. Than again…
