Domain Name Put On Hold

If you've been trying to access my blog or even email me over the last few days, it was like I fell off the face of the earth. In fact, my domain name had been put on hold because I did not renew it. As I learned, putting a domain name on hold causes it to disappear from site. Now you see me now you don't. So I learned something this past weekend. I've taken care of that small problem and now my web sites and all our email addresses are back up and working. I've instructed my computer to remind me the next time my domain name is due for renewal.

It was a bad weekend for my domain to be on hold. I spent a lot of time on Saturday at the NPPS Surplus Auction. I spent all of $3.00 (not a typo) for two computer desks, a laser printer, and about 15 network switches, hubs and extra ports. I've enjoyed the auctions over the years and our basement has the piles of junk bought for a really great price to show for it.

I also wanted to change the post about Mars. It sounded so good and in fact was good information two years ago. D'Esta called and confessed to leading me astray when she could not reach me because my domain was on hold. We had a nice conversation bracketed by her apologies. I'm responsible for what goes on my blog and no one else. As always, your mileage may vary.

Gum ball machineIt is my 20th anniversary as the Director of Religious Education for the Diocese of Grand Island this year. The people who make up the staff of the NP Catholic Offices held a surprise anniversary party for me and gave me a really neat Gum Ball machine filled with M&M Peanuts (See the picture on the right). It was a great day.

UP's Steam Locomotive 844 is back in NP tonight after spending the weekend in Omaha. It will continue its journey back to Cheyenne on Wednesday morning. Going west the locomotive was closer to the fence and I got some great shots of the locomotive and its drive wheels. What a machine.
