Lenten eMeditation – March 6, 2005 #26
Sunday had a ritual all its own a ritual different from other days of the week. Dad would go to the 7:30 a. m. mass and the rest of us would go to the late mass. When we came home Dad had the bacon cooking. When we got home Dad would fry the eggs. We had some form of eggs sunny side up with bacon, toast and juice. After breakfast Dad would retire to his chair to read the Sunday paper. The rest of us would scatter to spend the rest of the day as we chose.
My Sunday ritual is different today. Now, for health reasons, I eat Cheerios for breakfast instead of bacon and eggs. I go to the late mass rather than the early mass. After mass and a quick lunch I head to the grocery story and sometimes shopping at the mega general store.
Today, like many of those Sundays past and present was renewing. I hope your celebration of Laetare Sunday was renewing for you as well.
