I wish you a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.
I'm including this picture of my visit with Santa back in 1952. According to the note on the back of the photograph I was 2 years and seven months old at the time. I must say I look a little apprehensive.
We're enjoying Christmas 2005. Beth and Ben traveled back to North Platte for Christmas. It has been a joy to spend the holiday with them. Too soon the nest will be empty again, but that is an experience for another day. Today the ham is out of the oven, Imo's famous hot rolls are raising, and the aroma of turkey has filled the house. Ah the traditions of Christmas. I am grateful for all that I've been given over the years.
Oh, by the way, it is nearly 60 (precisely 58 by our thermometer) today in North Platte. About two weeks ago it was below 0 and now today...it feels more like late fall than winter. I must admit I find the Christmas spirit more easily when it's 32 with a nip in the air. But the aroma of the real pine Christmas tree calls me back to the spirit of the season.Again, Merry Christmas!
