Moving the sprinkler
I've spent most of the evening moving the sprinkler around our yard. The Chem Lawn people treated our yard today and now I have to water it within 48 hours. The instructions the technician gives you says to keep children and pets off the yard and to water it within 48 hours. We no longer have a pet and all our children are away building their own lives so I'm left moving the sprinkler. The yard does look better -- no weeds -- since we decided to have it sprayed. I'm not sure what the consequences of spraying are for the ground water but the yard looks nice. It is a fight to maintain a green yard in the desert of Nebraska. I was forced to take a break from moving the sprinkler to answer the phone. It was a calling service trying to get us to donate money to some worthy cause. Since the kids left home we don't get many real phone calls any more. By that I mean people we'd like to talk to.
I sent the last two days participating in a Diocesan workshop on the Sacrament of Marriage. Michael Lawler from Creighton University in Omaha conducted the workshop. Most of the priests from our diocese participated in the workshop so it was a good community building event as well as a learning experience. I did enjoy the review of the history of the Sacrament.
