Today was my last day serving in the position of Director of Religious Education for the Diocese of Grand Island. I enjoyed these 30 years ministering with the people of the diocese. I appreciated the opportunity to share the light of faith in Western Nebraska.
I remember the first tumble weed I encountered on interstate 80…I thought I would die. I remember the first cattle herd I encountered coming over the hill North of Arnold…welcome to Nebraska city boy. I remember the family that pulled me out of the ditch one snowy Sunday morning. I’ve become intimate with the highways of Western Nebraska. There are so many great stories I could tell. I am grateful for the many wonderful people who graced my time with the diocese.
We were looking for an adventure when we moved to Nebraska from Indiana just 30 years ago and we found one. Today that adventure ended and a new one begins.
