While I don’t consider our use of a cell phone typical I thought it would be interesting to look at our cell phone bill to see the impact of implementing a cell phone tax. If my calculations are correct our bill would increase by roughly $5.00/month. We have three phones (lines) on a family plan. See the chart below for the details.
We pay $8.41 a month in taxes for our landline (non-cell) including $0.54 in occupation tax. The $8.41 does not include the other fees we pay on the landline.
