I’m sending congratulations to my friend Sister Dorothy Rasche, SP as she celebrates her Golden Jubilee as a Sister of Providence. I became the Director of Religious Education for St. Lawrence Parish in Indianapolis, IN following Sister Dorothy. At that point I knew her only from the documents she left in the files at St. Lawrence. When we moved to Terre Haute, IN I discovered that Dorothy was serving as a pastoral associate at one of the parishes in the Terre Haute Deanery. She brings many gifts and talents to her ministry and she mentored me over the years. We’ve stayed in touch first by sending audio tapes back and forth. My communication unfortunately has been less frequent in recent years but our friendship endures.

Dorothy currently ministers a “The Connecting Link” in West Terre Haute. Her witness and example make God visible in concrete ways. Her commitment to the Gospel given witness through her vows as a Sister of Providence has graced many of us.  Congratulations Dorothy on your Golden Jubilee and may God continue to hold you in the palm of Her hand.
