Happy Easter! It is a beautiful Easter Sunday in Nebraska. The sun is shining and the deep blue Nebraska sky fills the horizon. Spring flowers are bursting out everywhere and trees begin to bud out. It’s hard to miss new life-it’s everywhere! I participated in the Easter Vigil Saturday night. I found the service spiritually uplifting. The Easter Vigil 2006 stands out in my mind as one of my most marked worship experiences. The ritual works on so many levels. With symbols and ritual we celebrate our experience of new life. A life filled with love and peace. As the darkened church slowly fills with light no words are necessary. We know Christ is risen and my spirit is renewed.

Chocolate candy is another tasty part of the Easter celebration. I’d forgotten how much I like malted milk balls. Happy Easter!
