The Lincoln County Community Development Corporation (LCCDC) is an asset for our community. During LCCDC’s Annual meeting, Executive Director Nancy Striebel reported the accomplishments of the corporation during 2006. The following items stood out for me in the report:

• LLCDC paid $114,701 in property taxes in 2006. Since 1996 affordable housing projects completed by LCCDC have increased the assessed property value $5,597,342. LCCDC is currently partnering on projects that have values of $239,576 in property taxes.
• Homebuyers Education–64 families received classes; yielding 37 first mortgages in the amount of $2,308,681 and second mortgages in the amount of $29,183.56.
• From the Purchase Rehab Resale projects eight houses sold, two listed for sale, two under construction and three houses to be moved.
