Penstemon digitalis ‘Husker Red’


First spring bloomSpring is on display in our yard. This little red bloom brightened my walk to our house this afternoon.I’ve been surprised at how well the Penstemon digitalis ‘Husker Red’ that I planted last spring are doing this spring. I wasn’t sure they were going to do anything this year because they just sat there last summer. This spring their growing like crazy. I’m looking forward to their life in our back yard.Husker Red

  1. […] Spring flowers quickly covered by a spring snow storm. We awoke Thursday morning, April 5, 2007 to a spring snow storm. Forecasters are predicting from 2 to 4 inches of snow for this snow event. I’m sure this weather will take a toll on the many spring flower already sprouted and blooming. Although we never really know how hearty these spring plants are. That is the wonder and beauty of nature itself. I would assume spring plants almost expect to encounter some freezing temperatures and for that reason have a firm “Plan B.” I posted a picture of this same plant before the weather turned.
