We have opened attendance at this main speaker session to our diocese which would include any person interested in hearing Sister Helen Prejean.
Her talk is from 9:30 am to 11:00 am Monday, October 6, with question and answer period toward the end. A table will be set up outside the McDaid Gymnasium featuring her books and material before her talk and again after her session. A free-will offering will be taken up at the end of her session for her ministry, the Moratorium Campaign.
Those who come to Sister Prejean’s presentation are also invited to attend the Mass with Bishop Dendinger.
Sister Prejean has written a second book titled “The Death of Innocents: An Eyewitness Account of Wrongful Executions” released in 2004. Her first book “Dead Man Walking: An Eyewitness Account of the Death Penalty in the United States” was published in 1993 and became a best seller and was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize.
