The Garden

Cleaning out the Garden

I cleaned out the garden yesterday. With the prediction of a hard freeze I picked the remaining peppers, tomatoes and black beans from our garden. In spite of trials of the summer season our garden produced an abundant crop of peppers and tomatoes.

While I enjoy the fresh produce our garden offered us, I’m glad to see the growing season come to an end. The garden required more attention this year than in the past. But I guess gardens are that way. So we will finish cleaning out this piece of our land, turn the soil and wait for next spring and begin again. I am grateful for the bounty our garden gave us this summer.
